Job Summary

The Junior Content Creator captures and creates visual content - photos, videos, reels, and basic graphics - to bring school life to social media and other marketing channels. The role is hands-on and creative, suited to someone early in their career who is keen to grow across content creation and design.

Key areas of responsibility 

  • Photography: Capture high-quality photos across school events, activities, campus life, and marketing shoots for use across digital and print channels.
  • Videography: Film and edit video content for use on social media, the website, and other marketing platforms, including event coverage and promotional videos.
  • Social Media Content (Reels/Short-Form Video): Create engaging reels and short-form video content tailored to platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts.
  • Animation: Produce basic motion graphics or animated content to support social media posts, presentations, or campaigns.
  • Graphic Design Support: Assist the design team with basic graphic design tasks, such as resizing assets, creating simple social media graphics, templates, and print materials.
  • Content Planning: Work with the MAC team to plan content shoots around the school events calendar and marketing campaigns.
  • Asset Management: Organise and maintain a library of photo/video assets for ongoing and future use.
  • Brand Consistency: Ensure all content aligns with the school's brand guidelines, tone, and visual identity.
  • Trend Awareness: Stay current on social media trends and content formats, bringing fresh ideas to the team.

Person Specification:

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Multimedia, Film, Photography, Graphic Design, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience/portfolio).
  • 1-2 years of experience in content creation, photography, or videography (internships, freelance work, or personal projects count).
  • A portfolio or reel demonstrating photography, video editing, and/or short-form content work.
  • Experience in an educational institution or similar fast-paced environment is a plus, though not essential.

Skills and Attributes:

  • Strong eye for visual storytelling, composition, and detail.
  • Comfortable working with camera and video equipment.
  • Basic graphic design skills and experience with graphic design tools (e.g. Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign) and photo/video editing software (e.g. Adobe Premiere Pro, Lightroom, or similar).
  • Basic animation/motion graphics skills (e.g. proficiency in After Effects).
  • Up to date with social media trends, formats, and best practices for reels/short-form content.
  • Creative, proactive, and able to generate fresh content ideas independently.
  • Good time management skills, able to juggle multiple shoots/deadlines, including occasional events outside standard hours.
  • A collaborative team player, open to feedback and eager to learn and grow within the role.
